The Baltimore Region Rail System Plan

The Baltimore Region Rail System Plan Final Report was the culmination of more than a year of intense work by an advisory committee who reviewed data, participated in public meetings, and reviewed input from surveys and public workshops.

The committee recommended the construction of a complete Baltimore regional rail system extending north, south, east and west to connect the entire region. The proposed system would be a 109-mile rail system with 66 new miles added to the existing 43 miles of Metro Subway and Light Rail lines. The finished system could have as many as 122 stations, including 68 new stations in addition to the 54 stations that exist now.
